Happy Women's History Month!

In celebration of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, Community Refugee and Immigration Services wanted to take a moment to recognize a few of our female clients, who continue to amaze us with their solidarity, strength and determination. When asked personally about what makes her proud to be a woman, Doaa (pictured in the middle) replied that she was proud of the things she is able to do as a woman, such as be a mother and take care of her child. The other women echoed the same sentiment, saying that they were proud of the body they were born in and the opportunities that gives them. Currently, all five women are taking ESOL classes in order to find part-time jobs while they take care of their children at home. These women have shown such resilience and hard work in the face of their situations, and we are happy to recognize them!
