Columbus Crossing Borders Project

In 2017, 34 artists came together to create a bold exhibit that would explore the experiences, cultures, contributions, and stories of refugees and immigrants. Each artist created an original piece, and then worked with the artists who would be exhibiting directly on either side of them to “cross the borders” into those pieces. The pieces then toured the country together for seven years as the Columbus Crossing Borders Project - a cohesive, interconnected installation that moved and educated viewers about human rights, migration, and the meaning of community.

The artists donated their original pieces, and over half of them have now been sold as a benefit to Community Refugee and Immigration Services (CRIS).
