Sponsors play a critical role in the success of our biggest annual friend-raising and fundraising event: the CRIS 5K. The CRIS 5K is also an opportunity for local businesses to demonstrate their shared values with CRIS: welcoming refugees and immigrants and supporting them on their journeys to safety and stability, self-sufficiency, and integration into the Central Ohio community.

We are excited to host this year's race on Saturday, October 5th, in downtown Columbus at Genoa Park. We anticipate promoting this event as well as amplifying stories from CRIS’ work this year on our social media platforms, followed by thousands in Ohio and around the world. We also anticipate welcoming hundreds of attendees for the event festivities: kids' races, the 5K walk/run, and an advocacy fair featuring speakers, food, and music from around the world.

Newly resettled refugees thrive in relationship with community members who are willing to accompany them as sponsors, advocates, and friends, and these connections create joy and vibrance for all involved. In much the same way, CRIS' programs and services thrive on the active support of those in our community. The CRIS 5K sponsorship opportunities are named in honor of some of these life-changing relationships.

Sponsor the CRIS 5K

Like last year, the CRIS 2024 5K will celebrate the nations of the refugees and immigrants that call Central Ohio home. Each kilometer of the race will be dedicated to a different region of the world: East Asia + Pacific, Latin America, Europe, Near East/South Asia, and Africa.

For any immigrant-owned or led business or organization that sponsors this year's event (at any level), they may choose a section of the course to sponsor and have their business highlighted on that section of the course with branded signage.

    • 2 free race participant registrations with t-shirts

  • Friend ($1,000)

    • Inclusion in thank-you social media post from CRIS accounts

    • 4 free race participant registrations with t-shirts

  • Partner ($2,500)

    • Recognition during the virtual race kick-off video

  • Advocate ($5,000)
